Winter Roses

Winter Roses brace to please
as cold upon each petal
Challenges their journey home
and hearts to choose to settle

Beyond the sun and warmth they know
placed upon your table
Reminding us on coldest nights
the soul is strong and able

Winter Roses come to you
with certainty and love
Knowing you shall bring the light
they look to from above

Slower now to open
bending ever so
Speaking in their silent way
hoping you shall know

Winter Roses came today
and smile from each fold
Certain I would come for them
certain they’d be sold
