Castles

Down by the water where children play
Castles of sand are standing
Later as the sun sets low
the children up and go

They leave behind their mansions of glory
filled with eyes of blue
They leave behind a child’s dream
perhaps a pail or two

Moonlight now surrounds their Castles
a prince and princess meet
As once they did so long ago
beneath our tiny feet

Then as we slept the waters came
our Castles washed away
A smooth shore now awaits their steps
it knows they’ll come to play
